Start by removing any old displays from the case and being certain the case is clean and free of dust. Wipe off the glass and clean any smudges or marks from the floorboard. 

If the floorboard needs rewrapping, obtain display-grade fabric and rewrap following instructions found elsewhere on this website. 

Place the platforms in the showcase. Typically the largest platform goes in the center back of the case. Allow the other platforms to fit in the case in a pleasing manner.

Now take the most expensive jewelry items in the showcase and place them on the individual display elements you have. These are the pieces you want most to sell, so put them in the back center of the showcase on major platforms for everyone to see. The use of individual elements will emphasize its importance to your customer.

Now take the middle priced merchandise and display it in trays you have that hold 3-5 pieces. This merchandise is not your “best”, but is “better.” By displaying it in trays that only hold asmall amount, you are conveying its quality.

Take the remaining merchandise and place this “good” merchandise in the trays you have that hold 5, 7, 12 or more pieces. In these higher capacity trays, you’ll convey the broad selection you have in these lower price points.

Now step around and view the finished case layout from the customer’s side. Does it look organized? Can you see everything?

 Are the pieces you want most to sell in a primary spot? Are the lights shining well on the merchandise without shadows?

Now spend the next few weeks watching the reaction to your showcase. Are sales increasing? Do you have more people asking to see pieces? If so, you are doing the right thing. If not, adjust your displays and try to find a combination that will increase sales. Send us a photo of the finished layout for a free critique. We want to help!
